America's Cannabis Tourism Capital

Cannabis tourism contributes an estimated $423 million annually to Colorado's economy. No other state comes close to matching Colorado's depth of cannabis tourism infrastructure, built over more than a decade of legal recreational sales.

Cannabis Tours

Colorado Cannabis Tours, the original company founded around 2014, operates from South Broadway ("The Green Mile") and remains the industry leader. Their offerings include:

  • Grow facility tours — See commercial cannabis cultivation up close
  • Dispensary visits — Guided shopping with expert commentary
  • Puff Pass & Paint classes — Cannabis-friendly art instruction
  • Cannabis cooking courses — Learn to make infused cuisine
  • Mountain excursions — Combine cannabis with Colorado's outdoor beauty

Tours start at approximately $79 per person. My 420 Tours, once a major competitor, closed without warning. The Cannabis Experience and Colorado Highlife Tours continue operating.

International Church of Cannabis

At 400 South Logan Street, a converted 113-year-old Lutheran church features stunning psychedelic murals by Spanish artist Okuda San Miguel and a 360-degree laser light show called "BEYOND." The International Church of Cannabis ranks among Denver's top 10 tourist attractions. It operates as an "elevationist" congregation where cannabis is considered a sacrament.

Mile High 420 Festival

Running for 30+ years at Civic Center Park, the Mile High 420 Festival is one of the world's largest cannabis celebrations. The 2018 edition drew an estimated economic impact of $95 million. Live music, food vendors, advocacy organizations, and tens of thousands of attendees gather every April 20. The 2026 edition is confirmed.

420-Friendly Accommodations

The budandbreakfast.com platform lists 75+ Colorado properties, ranging from budget rooms at $60/night to party mansions at $1,100/night. Notable properties include:

  • Adagio — Includes a wake-n-bake cannabis sampler for guests
  • Arrowhead Manor — Luxury property near Red Rocks Amphitheatre with private smoking decks

Many standard hotels strictly prohibit cannabis use and will charge cleaning fees of $200–$500+ for violations. Always confirm cannabis policies before booking.

Red Rocks & Cannabis

Red Rocks Amphitheatre, one of the world's most iconic music venues, sits in a public park where cannabis consumption is prohibited. Despite the venue's association with cannabis culture, enforcement does occur. Consume before arriving and do not bring cannabis products into the venue.
